Hello
I'm so glad you're here! My name is Savannah Hatcher, and I currently live in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida. I grew up a little differently than others, which inspired me to start my own business!
Let me catch you up. I grew up in a family that was very knowledgeable about children and adults with special needs. The reason for this is that my brother, Jordan, is severely autistic and nonverbal and requires special care at all times of the day. Years after Jordan's diagnosis, my parents discovered an incredible summer and fall camp that caters to adults and children with a wide range of disabilities, with each week focusing on a different disorder.
From that point forward, I spent my summers growing and learning from the incredible people I met every week. As I grew older, I was able to have specific campers to care for each week. These summers were the most important developmental years of my life, I realized. As I reflect on how different my childhood was as a result of my family dynamic, I am grateful to have been able to form such a strong bond and relationship with my brother Jordan, and to be able to spend my summer days with him at this camp, as well as bring joy and happiness to each and every camper I have had over the years. It's a strange thought that without Jordan, my heart would never have been opened to such a greater celebration of disabled children and adults.
As the years passed and life seemed to move faster than I expected, I lost touch with this truly inspirational place and wanted to give something back.
Making candles has become a huge interest in my life, and I wanted to make these specific candles for a cause. 5$ per candle proceeds go back to Camp Barnabus, a camp that not only changed my perspective on life, but also opened my heart in ways I could never have imagined.
